QA Automation Engineer

Quality Assurance/ QA Automation Engineer with Selenium Automation and either (Java or Python) programming skills is needed for an on-going project. Candidate must be able to pass a basic coding test in either Java or Python. This is a long term contract position with potential to convert to full-time. W2 candidates only. Any voice/speech recognition, linguistics, naturalization project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities for the QA Automation Engineer

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and execute testing activities

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products

Requirements for the QA Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 5+ years of industry experience in software testing

  • Experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java and/or Python

  • (Must be able to pass a basic coding test in either Java or Python)

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization.

  • Experience with scripting to build and maintain test automation (Selenium)

  • Experience with test driven development

  • Experience in interacting and coordinating test activities across multiple teams

  • Interest in Leadership principles: Ownership, bias for action, insist on highest standards, dive deep

  • Understanding of voice/speech recognition, linguistics or naturalization project is a plus
